Our Home in Mallorca

Mallorca is more than just a holiday destination for us. Since we bought our house, we have invested a great deal of time, love and energy into it, gradually turning it into the place where we ourselves love to arrive and spend time. We have already enjoyed many wonderful holidays here with the grandparents, our children and, more recently, our grandchild. From the very beginning, it was therefore important to us to create a home where the whole family could feel comfortable.

As you enter through the front door, you come directly into the spacious living area. The large sofa offers plenty of room for everyone, and from the living room you already have a view of the terrace and garden. The living area leads into the open-plan dining area with a large dining table and the well-equipped kitchen. There is also a guest toilet with a shower on the ground floor. The living room, dining area and kitchen each have direct access to the terrace.

The large terrace is one of our favourite places. This is where we have breakfast, enjoy meals, chat and, quite often, play a round of Doppelkopf, a traditional German card game. The large terrace table seats up to eight people, and there is also a cosy seating area. A charcoal barbecue is available as well.

The private pool with sun loungers and the garden are directly adjacent to the terrace. Palm trees, pine trees, as well as a lemon and a banana tree provide plenty of greenery and create both sunny and shady spots. There is also a sandbox for children.

Upstairs, there are three bedrooms, all with built-in wardrobes. The largest bedroom has a double bed, its own balcony overlooking the garden and an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub, bidet, toilet and washbasin. The two other bedrooms each have a 1.40 m wide bed and share another bathroom with a shower, toilet, bidet and washbasin.

The house has air conditioning on the ground floor and in all three bedrooms, as well as central heating. Central heating is not a given in Mallorca and makes the house comfortable even outside the traditional summer season.

Wi-Fi, a TV, towels and additional bath towels are also provided.

Our house is not simply a holiday home that we have furnished exclusively for guests. It is our home in Mallorca, where we ourselves love to spend our holidays and which we are happy to share with you.

Good to know

➜ For families with small children, a baby cot and high chair are available.

➜ We provide bath towels for the pool and beach. Sun loungers and parasols can be rented at the beach or purchased at the supermarket opposite.

➜ Bicycles can be rented in Cala d’Or.

➜ Free parking is available on the street and in a nearby car park.

➜ Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement. Please let us know when booking if you would like to bring your dog.

Getting here & getting around

The address of our house is:

PLEASE NOTE: Your navigation system may sometimes direct you to Carrer des Forn 34, which is a few hundred metres further down the road.Our house is located at the small roundabout, directly opposite the small supermarket.

The distance from Palma de Mallorca Airport to our house is approximately 60 km. By car, the journey takes around 45 to 50 minutes, depending on traffic. Rental cars and taxis are available at the airport. It is also possible to travel by public bus.

Many places can easily be reached on foot. For excursions and exploring the surrounding area, we recommend renting a car or bicycle. Both can be rented locally.Free parking is available on the street and in a nearby car park.

Small coves, short distances and plenty to discover

If you are expecting miles of sandy beaches, you will discover something different here: a coastline with many small coves, each with its own unique charm. Just three to five minutes’ walk from the house are Platja de Cala Ferrera and Playa de Cala Serena. Cala Ferrera also has a restaurant right on the beach. Playa Cala Esmeralda, Playa Cala Gran and Playa Cala Petita are also very close by. We particularly love Cala Mitjana and Cala sa Nau, which are wonderful to explore by bicycle.

In Cala Ferrera and neighbouring Cala d’Or, you will find numerous restaurants, cafés and bars, as well as cocktail and rooftop bars and plenty of opportunities for strolling and shopping. The Maria supermarket directly opposite our house is particularly convenient.

We ourselves love getting around by bicycle. The routes towards Porto Petro and Porto Colom, through the Mallorcan countryside, are particularly beautiful.

A visit to the weekly market in Santanyí, held on Wednesdays and Saturdays, is also part of our regular favourites.

If you would like to discover the coast from the water, you can rent a boat at the Cala d’Or marina.

One of our personal tips is a wine tasting at Vinya Son Alegre in Calonge.

Just a few minutes’ walk away is also the Robinson Club Cala Serena, offering a variety of sports, diving and wellness activities.
