Cala Ferrera & Surroundings

Small coves, short distances and lots to discover

If you’re expecting miles of sandy beaches, you’ll discover something different here: a coastline dotted with little coves, each with its own special charm. The Platja de Cala Ferrera and Playa de Cala Serena are just a three- to five-minute walk from the house. Cala Ferrera also has a restaurant right on the beach. Playa Cala Esmeralda, Playa Cala Gran and Playa Cala Petita are also very close by. We especially love Cala Mitjana and Cala sa Nau, which are wonderful to explore by bike.

In Cala Ferrera and neighboring Cala d'Or, you’ll find numerous restaurants, cafés, and bars, as well as cocktail bars, rooftop bars, and places to browse and shop. Maria’s supermarket, directly across from our house, is especially convenient.

We love cycling ourselves. The routes towards Porto Petro and Porto Colom are particularly beautiful, taking you through the Mallorcan countryside.

A visit to the weekly market in Santanyí, held on Wednesdays and Saturdays, is also a must for us.

If you’d like to explore the coast from the water, you can rent a boat at the Cala d'Or marina.

One of our personal recommendations is a wine tasting at Vinya Son Alegre in Calonge.

Just a few minutes’ walk away is also the Robinson Club Cala Serena, offering a range of sports, diving and wellness activities.
